Ghibli style photo: what changes, what stays?
The request aims to soften edges, simplify color and add a painted texture while keeping your subject and framing. Skies, greenery and light are part of that treatment. This is style transfer, not a face-swap control: you do not choose a replacement identity.
Those instructions are a direction, not a promise. Generative models can redraw faces, change objects or shift the scene. Look closely at expressions, hands, lettering and background details. A result may feel familiar without being an exact likeness.

Is the AI Ghibli filter free?
The free allowance is three generations per IP address per UTC day, subject to shared capacity. People on the same network share that allowance. Availability is subject to shared capacity; no paid upgrade is offered here.
Do I need to sign up?
Yes. Sign in with Google before choosing a photo or generating an AI image. Your first sign-in creates a Filtora account. You can browse this page without signing in, and browser filters work without an account. Choosing a photo after sign-in creates only a local preview.
Will it still look like my photo?
The model is asked to keep the subject and composition while changing the rendering style. It may still alter facial features, clothing, objects or the background. This is a creative interpretation, not a guaranteed likeness. Compare the result with your original before saving or sharing it.
How long does generation take?
Time depends on the model, photo and service load; there is no guaranteed completion time. A timeout does not prove the provider stopped processing. The page does not automatically retry a request, and an uncertain result locks further generation on that photo to help avoid duplicate submissions.
What photo works best?
Start with a clear portrait, pet, landscape or street scene with an easy-to-see subject. Use JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB; convert HEIC first. Busy scenes, small faces and text may be changed or simplified. Results vary by model and photo.
What happens to my photo?
Selecting a photo previews it on your device. Generating sends it through Filtora to Replicate for processing. Replicate API inputs, outputs and logs are removed after one hour by default. Removing your preview stops local waiting; it does not cancel a submitted generation or immediately delete the provider's data.
Is this an official Studio Ghibli tool?
No. Filtora is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Studio Ghibli. The name describes a search term for a hand-painted animation look. A generated image is not an official studio work, and using this tool does not grant rights to someone else's photos, characters or branding.
Is this the same as an anime filter?
